Stage Coach Players Reaches Out to Join Together with Humans for Hope

DEKALB, ILL, March 3, 2021 – Stage Coach Players (SCP) continues to “Join Together” with the local community this season as they once again be collecting food for and household items giving away fabric if you are looking to create your own masks on the second and fourth Tuesdays in March.  The collection to be held on Tues., March 9, 2021 will run from 4 to 6 p.m. and be held in the theatre’s back parking lot.  The address is 126 S. Fifth Street in DeKalb.

SCP begins its partnership with Humans For Hope (Chicago) which will continue through the month of April.  Humans For Hope is dedicated to advocating and assisting our friends in transition and living on the streets.  Their focus is love, community, self-healing, assistance, community education to help in breaking stigmas and more.  SCP will be collecting monetary donations for them along with hygiene items, new or cleaned used clothing, blankets.  To learn more about Humans For Hope or to donate directly to them, visit their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/humansforhopechicago/ and click on the link to their Go Fund Me Page.

This week’s food donations will be going to NIU’s Huskie Food Pantry.  Huskie Food Pantry is a source of nutritional food, experiential learning, and service for the NIU community.  The pantry is available to all currently enrolled NIU students with their NIU One Card and is located at the Chick Evans Field House.  For available times, please visit their website.  SCP will be accepting non-perishable items such as canned meat, vegetables, and fruit along with boxed food and items in plastic containers.  We are also accepting paper products.  Please no glass containers.  Because of the current virus concerns as with many local food pantries, there is a shortage of necessary items for those in need.
