Stage Coach Players Announces Auditions for Its 2022 Holiday Play, “A Christmas Story”

DEKALB, ILL, August 16, 2022 – The phrase, “You’ll shoot your eye out,” and the film the line comes from is synonymous with Christmas.  That film,  A Christmas Story, belongs at the pinnacle of all modern Christmas stories.  This December, Stage Coach Players will be producing A Christmas Story, which follows young Ralphie Parker and his relentless quest to acquire a Red Ryder 200 shot model BB gun, with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time.

Auditions for this family classic will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church which has the address of 218 Somonauk Street in Sycamore, Illinois.  Auditions will be Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 10 am to 3 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 1 pm to 5 pm, and Monday, September 12, 2022, from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The play, A Christmas Story, was adapted by Phillip Grecian from the 1983 film and will be directed by Stewart Ogilvie.  Ogilvie will be looking to cast three men, ages 40 – 55, two women, ages 35 – 45, along with five boys and two girls all between the ages of 8 – 12.  Rehearsals start in late October with the production dates being December 8 – 18, 2022.
