Stage Coach Players Continues to Collect for Local Food Banks in June After Returning to the Stage

DEKALB, ILL, May 19, 2021 — Stage Coach Players (SCP) continues to lend a assistance to local food banks this summer by collecting food and household items for local food banks while giving away fabric if you are looking to create your own masks.  The SCP Community Outreach Committee will be collecting items on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 and Tuesday, June 22, 2021.  SCP members will be at the theatre from 4 to 6 p.m. and will be collecting donations in the theatre’s back parking lot.  The address is 126 S. 5th Street in DeKalb.

With so many people still in need, SCP will be accepting household and non-perishable food items during for the following area food banks:  Feed My Sheep on June 8 and Spartan Food Mart on June 22.  SCP will be accepting boxed, canned, and plastic containers.  Please no glass containers. 

In addition, during the month of June, SCP will be partnering with Tails Humane Society, Oaken Acres, and Happy Tails collecting items to help our furry and fuzzy friends.  Many items will be accepted including canned food for cats and dogs of any age, treats for each.  High quality dog and cat chow, unsalted sunflower seeds, peanuts, and walnuts.  In addition to food, these animal care businesses are also always in need of cleaning supplies like paper towels, liquid dish and hand soap, and large garbage bags.  Cat litter, new and used pet carriers and toys are also accepted.  Gift cards from Petco, PetSmart and other stores that sell these products will also be accepted.  If you want a more specific list for each shelter/sanctuary, please visit the websites for Tails Humane Society, Oaken Acres and Happy Tails Humane Society.
