DEKALB, ILL, December 8, 2021 – Stage Coach Players (SCP) announces auditions for its spring production of The Producers, the modern musical comedy by Mel Brooks.  Based on the movie of the same name, the multi-Tony Award winning musical has thrilled audiences and created wonderful performances since it opened on Broadway in 2000.

The Producers will be directed by Scott Montavon.  Auditions will take place Thursday and Friday, January 6 and 7, 2022 from 6 – 9 p.m. and on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m..  Auditions will take place in the basement at SCP Theatre.  Those who audition must be vaccinated for COVID-19 and must follow current CDC guidelines by properly wearing a mask over both mouth and nose. 

We will be looking for a man between ages 40 and 60 to play Max and a man between ages 20 and 30 to play Leo.  We will also be looking for a woman between the ages of 20 and 40 to play Ulla, a man between ages 20 and 60 to play Franz, and a man between ages of 30 and 50 to play Roger.  We will also be looking for about 20 ensemble members ranging in ages from 18 to 60.  Of those auditioning, we’re looking for half a dozen feature dancers who can do either jazz style or tap.

Performances for The Producers will be held March 24 – 27, 2022, and March 31 – April 3, 2022.
