STAGE COACH PLAYERS CONTINUES WORK WITH LOCAL NON-PROFITS IN 2024

DEKALB, ILL, May 29, 2024 – Since COVID-19 hit DeKalb, Stage Coach Players (SCP) has stepped up to work with more than a dozen local non-profits to help collect food, clothing, toys, along with other sundry items to help the DeKalb County community.  The SCP Community Outreach team continues to remain busy.

Earlier this spring, several members of SCP were fortunate to take a tour of Opportunity House.  Inside the building, Jan Kuntz of SCP said, “An entire world emerged.  There were rooms and rooms filled with people involved in so many varied activities that we were  overwhelmed with the opportunities this organization offers to those of many ability levels.”

So last month, we partnered with Opportunity House, a non-profit that has helped create a positive environment for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities for sixty years.  As has been the case over the past five years, our patrons did not disappoint.  With the community’s help, we gathered a large variety of items including craft supplies and gardening items.

In June, the SCP Community Outreach team will be collecting items for Safe Passage.  On consecutive Tuesdays, June 11 and June 18, we will be collecting hygiene items, cleaning supplies, household items and hair products.  Collections will run from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the back of the theatre.  To get a full list of what Safe Passage needs, please visit their website:  www.safepassagedv.org.

SCP will also be participating in DeKalb Pride later in June, DeKalb Family Fun Day in July and collecting items for Huskie Food Pantry this Summer.  For more information on SCP and our upcoming community outreach events, or our current season of shows, please visit our website at www.stagecoachplayers.com, or follow us on Facebook.
